Redang Day 2

Day 2 kick-started with sunrise watching. There will no be other idiot like 2 of us (Nicholas and me) who wake up at 5.30am, go down to the beach at 5.45am to wait the sun rises at 7.20am. Yes, we are too early and in deed I am wrong. There is other hundred of idiot who wake up so early just to watch the moon and star giving way to the sun. Anyway the 1 hour and half waiting was meaningful when the egg yolk shaped sun rise from the seabed. I manage to capture some good shot although these shots are not compatible with shot taken by SLR camera. I just enjoy watching the ‘dragon ball’ rise from the seabed.

Headed back to our resort to have breakfast. It was simple and again taste bland to me. No ‘wow’ factor in the food served. We back to room, clean up, dress up (more to wear nothing) and gather for yet another adventurous day. The morning session will be snorkelling trip to marine park. Since I went to Tioman Island marine park 2 years ago and I was fascinated by it, I put a very high expectation on Redang Island marine park as the water is much cleaner and highly recommended by lot of people. However I was totally disappointed by the marine park. No doubt there is many fishes and coral, but nothing beat Tioman island marine park with big fishes.

We snap some underwater photo and left with disappointment. We headed back to our resort for another meal and again as expected the food serves is just to fill in our empty stomach. Nothing to be hoo-ha about the food served. We then snorkelled by our own at nearby beaches and snap some underwater action photo.

The 3rd snorkelling session start around 2.30pm where we are ask to jump at a open sea. Real open sea. The wave was quite high and dangerous but we brave ourselves for the one hour snorkelling session. There is a lot of coral here but not much fishes around. Another disappointment snorkelling trip.

Unsatisfied with the snorkelling trip, we headed our own way to find the turtle and baby shark. Hahaha… we finally found the shark….the baby shark is so elegant when it swim beside other fishes. Before that we order coconut drink to have the feel of an island.

We headed back to resort and say good bye to the sea water knowing that we are not going to get wet anymore for the remaining trip. After clean up, we enjoy our bbq dinner. They serve bbq lamb, fried chicken wings, bbq fish and some side dishes. Nothing fascinated me anyway. The uncle on the next table says sarcastically that the best food he tasted for the day is the orange juice!

Night fall and again we have walk around the island and listen to karaoke session. We opt to have tea by the beach side and enjoy the sea breeze.
