Toilet review

Today I hear in radio about toilet in Malaysia. As you know, toilet in Malaysia has the customary to collect some money as part of maintenance of the toilet. However, do you feel you’re paid for the toilet is worth it?

One things I really regret during redang trip is to snap photo of toilet condition so I can review in this post. I never thought toilet can be my agenda in this blog.

Let me start with toilet review that I spend money in during my tour in Redang.

~~~The Mall toilet~~~
To start with, I would comment on The Mall toilet. The Mall used to be one of the famous shopping complex once upon the time. As normal, the toilet cost us 30 cent but the toilet condition was horrible.
The male urinal bowl was full with urine as the water to clean the urinal bowl is not functioning. Some of the urinal bowl is stuck and the urine is unable to be drain away. There is no soap for people to wash hand and the only 2 out of 3 sink is operating. The condition of the sink is so disgusting that I don’t feel like washing my hand. No toilet paper provided as user need to spend another 30 cent to buy tissue paper at the counter. No hand dryer in the toilet as well. The tiles at the toilet are broken and the floor is so wet that it look like wet market more than toilet. The smell is so stinky.
~~~Medan makan near kemaman~~~

When our bus stop at medan makan near kemaman for supper, I spend another 30 cent for the toilet. As normal the toilet wasn’t that clean but it was not disgusting. One can smell the mixture of detergent with urinal. The sink is ok but the floor nearby is so slippery that any old man passed by can easily slip and die….

~~~Kuala Terengganu bus station toilet~~~
As there is no free toilet available near Kuala Terengganu bus station, we opt for the paid one. No choice as we arrive 4.30am in Kuala Terengganu. The toilet condition is ok but not worth the money. The toilet is not clean and slippery. No toilet paper available and sink is full with rubbish and cigarette butt.
~~~Merang jetty toilet behind one coffee shop~~~

Arriving at Merang jetty at 9.30am and we start looking for toilet as our speed boat will not have any toilet available. So we walk some distance and saw this 30 cent toilet behind a coffee shop. The toilet is made of wood to be specific but the interior was made of tiles and cement. The gals toilet and guys toilet share the same entrance but guys toilet is only consist of 4 urinal bowl while ladies get personal room. The floor is sticky but the toilet condition is OK and not smelly. One thing to complaint is there is no place to wash the hand.

We are fortunate that we have personal toilet in redang that we do not need to worry about paying toilet TAX!!!

~~~Exclusive toilet at Dataran shahbandar~~~
We pass by an exclusive toilet at Dataran Shahbandar, Kuala Terengganu that cost 50 cents. As we have no urgency on that moment, we decided not to go in but we intent to take photo to blog about it….however we forgot! I our mind, how exclusive can this 50 cent toilet be?
~~~Kuala Terengganu INTERNATIONAL airport~~~

Mind you, INTERNATIONAL is purposely spelt in capital to show how important the toilet should be in this place.
The toilet is slippery, dirty as many shoe marks and stain is on the floor. Smelly and worst still so slippery that even youngster like me can fall down…Ok I almost fall down. Good things is all the toiletries is functioning and soap and hand dryer is provided.

In the quest by government to curbed H1N1, the government urged all toilet providers to be clean and hygiene. However based on my experience public toilet is always dirty and make things worst normally paid toilet are not well maintain. Can’t all toilet provider look at pavilion shopping mall toilet or maybe Berjaya times square toilet. At least that is what I call a proper toilet and is FREE….

I can’t imagine who the hell will paid 30 cent for the toilet below:

Redang Day 3 ~ Kuala Terengganu

As some of us missed yesterday session of watching sunrise, we headed to the beach again this morning. This time we are clever, we headed to the beach at 6.30am. The sunrise was a disappointment to all people who waited so long as the heavy cloud have hidden the sun. We went back to the resort, eat our last meal in Redang and headed back to room to pack. We check out at 8.30am and have last shot around the island before we depart at 9.20am.

The ferry ride took about 1 and half hour and another 1 hour ride to Kuala Terengganu. We kept our belonging at the guesshouse provided and find our way to search the hidden gem of Kuala Terengganu. First mission is to fill our empty stomach with nice food which also good enough to be feature in www.harkausiewmai.blogspot.com.

We then have a walk in Pasar Payang and Chinatown. We also took the controversy bus named the heritage bus to go around Kuala Terengganu. Frankly, it was a disappointing tour. The bus gives no chance for us to go down to the museum and just stop by 5 minutes at Masjid Kristal. Very disappointing.

We end our journey with nasi padang at kuala terengganu town and our resort operator drive us to the airport. We flew back with AirAsia and arrive KL at 11pm. That the end of yet another annual trip….We will be back with Bangkok next year….stay tune…

Zoom Malaysia Zoom Redang Island….So much to see, so much to experience….

Tribute to the star

The entertainment arena suffers 2 great losses in a day. The king of pop, Micheal Jackson died today morning and Charlie’s Angel, Farrah Farcett both pass away on early Friday morning and late Thursday night respectively.

Though I was not super fan of them, but I feel it was a great loss to the world. Despite Micheal Jackson controversial scandal, millions of people still admire him as idol. May both the stars rested in peace.

Redang Day 2

Day 2 kick-started with sunrise watching. There will no be other idiot like 2 of us (Nicholas and me) who wake up at 5.30am, go down to the beach at 5.45am to wait the sun rises at 7.20am. Yes, we are too early and in deed I am wrong. There is other hundred of idiot who wake up so early just to watch the moon and star giving way to the sun. Anyway the 1 hour and half waiting was meaningful when the egg yolk shaped sun rise from the seabed. I manage to capture some good shot although these shots are not compatible with shot taken by SLR camera. I just enjoy watching the ‘dragon ball’ rise from the seabed.

Headed back to our resort to have breakfast. It was simple and again taste bland to me. No ‘wow’ factor in the food served. We back to room, clean up, dress up (more to wear nothing) and gather for yet another adventurous day. The morning session will be snorkelling trip to marine park. Since I went to Tioman Island marine park 2 years ago and I was fascinated by it, I put a very high expectation on Redang Island marine park as the water is much cleaner and highly recommended by lot of people. However I was totally disappointed by the marine park. No doubt there is many fishes and coral, but nothing beat Tioman island marine park with big fishes.

We snap some underwater photo and left with disappointment. We headed back to our resort for another meal and again as expected the food serves is just to fill in our empty stomach. Nothing to be hoo-ha about the food served. We then snorkelled by our own at nearby beaches and snap some underwater action photo.

The 3rd snorkelling session start around 2.30pm where we are ask to jump at a open sea. Real open sea. The wave was quite high and dangerous but we brave ourselves for the one hour snorkelling session. There is a lot of coral here but not much fishes around. Another disappointment snorkelling trip.

Unsatisfied with the snorkelling trip, we headed our own way to find the turtle and baby shark. Hahaha… we finally found the shark….the baby shark is so elegant when it swim beside other fishes. Before that we order coconut drink to have the feel of an island.

We headed back to resort and say good bye to the sea water knowing that we are not going to get wet anymore for the remaining trip. After clean up, we enjoy our bbq dinner. They serve bbq lamb, fried chicken wings, bbq fish and some side dishes. Nothing fascinated me anyway. The uncle on the next table says sarcastically that the best food he tasted for the day is the orange juice!

Night fall and again we have walk around the island and listen to karaoke session. We opt to have tea by the beach side and enjoy the sea breeze.

Redang Day 1.

Today marks the one week anniversary of our trip to Redang.

Redang trip started with a bumpy and crappy bus ride from hentian putra at 10.00pm. The bus journey was one of the worst I ever have so far as the bus operator decided to cramp 2 bus journey into 1 journey causing the bus to be cramp and stuffy. To make thing worst, there is so many incest in the bus. We arrived at Kuala Terengganu about 4.30am.

Kuala Terengganu was so far the most not ‘happening’ place ever. The moment we step down from the bus we only notice ‘711’ convenient shop is operating. The Mc Donald’s, KFC and other shop is still not operating. We headed to Chinatown nearby hoping that there is dim sum or coffee shop open but we end up with nothing! How sadly.

We starve ourselves until 6am when the tour agent (Redang Pelangi) come and usher us to the rest house nearby. We waited until 8am where Redang Pelangi bus arrive and depart to Merang jetty.

We arrived at Merang jetty about 9am after another bumpy ride. Before we arrive at the jetty we pass by the stadium which the roof fall down few weeks ago. What a good way to start our trip!

We met a group of China student and Hong Kong tourist at the jetty. We depart to Redang island using a speed boat. The 45 minutes journey is the bumpiest ride ever. Along the ride, I can hear some gals screaming due to the trilling ride.

We arrived at Redang Island about 10.10pm and were greet by the crystal clear turquoise sea water and super fine white sand. The resort management greet us with warm smile and brief us about Redang Island, resort operation and our itinerary.

Our room number is D4, partly facing the sea, party facing the coconut tree of our resort. After check in, we have a breezy walk around our resort and the beach side before settle down for our lunch at the canteen. The food wasn’t that bad but can’t compete with any other resort food in KL.

First day activities started with snorkelling at open sea. We were brought to a snorkelling side nearby Berjaya resort. There weren’t much fishes around and the coral look dull and dying. However, the thing that I like the most is the number of giant sea cucumber around the snorkelling area. We spent about one hour at the snorkelling area before heading back to our resort for tea break.

After our tea break, we walk to Laguna Resort while enjoying the sea breeze from the South China Sea. We snap photo like no one business along the journey to Laguna Resort. We also stop by the famous ‘more more tea inn’ beside Laguna Resort which was the side for the a famous movie featuring Richie Ren and Sammi Cheng.

We then headed back to our resort about 5.30pm and swim at the beach and sun tanning. How good if everyday can be as enjoyable as that moment. Totally relax, without stress and without hectic lifestyle.

We have chicken rice for dinner which was quite tasteless and not full.

As darkness start to takeover the daylight, we have bath and clean up. Then we walk to other resort to see their night life. Frankly, night life in Redang is dull and boring. Not as busy and happening as KL. However it was the best place to find tranquillity and serenity.

What beat the feeling of lying down at the hammock or beach bench and look upon million of star in the sky while listening to the wave hitting the shore. That is what life suppose to mean doesn’t?

That the end of Day 1.

so dull here

My blog is getting dull and boring nowadays....less photo is uploaded nowadays due to my busy schedule but I promise after next week, u will see tonnes and tonnes of photo in the blog....

WHY???

Because I heading to Redang....yeahhhhhhh

H1N1 disease i moving from bad to worst and WHO is most likely to raise the pandemic level to level 6. This would mean it was one of the dangerous flu pandemic over the 40 years history....

Haiz....sound bad....

Yeah, nothing can be worst then going to trip with so much worried in mind....My parent have asked me to cancel my trip....I told her this is a local trip so it would not affect much....and i told her that the level is still level 5 and WHO is yet to increase to level 6....

But...

TheStar Online had just written that most likely tonight 12 mdnight, WHO in Geneva will declare H1N1 as pandemic flu level 6.....So i expect another debate section with my parent tomorrow....hehe...but don't worry, i will still be going Redang, because I know my mom....

My mom just know that I won't cancel my trip at all.....because if SARS, JE, economic crisis, bus tragedy, plane crash and other story that my mom told me before and I manage to travel, I don't think H1N1 will...

The only way I will cancel my trip is when Government declare state of emergency in our country...then i might think of cancel it...wahahaha...

Redang...........I am coming!!!

By the way, H1N1 is no longer swine flu so it is safe to eat PORK....I eat pork almost everyday and I am healty....support pork!!! or not pork seller have no income!!! and I will also suffer!!!

Too sad for word

Today is the day.....

I try to be positive.....

I hope for a miracle....

Express Bus fare up by 30%

Nope!! You do not read my title wrong!!! That was the news I just read from The Star Online...

You know what, I do get the sense that they need a raised in bus fare but I just feel it was radiculous that bus fare are now expensive enough than air flight!!!

This wasn't the first time I experience it...

For example, my flight to Kuala Terengganu next weekend is RM 38.50 inclusive of tax and airport charges. On the same time, I do find out the bus fare from KL to Kuala Terengganu is RM 38.50 as well....and that is before the fare is raised.

So if it was to raised by 30%, would that mean it is cheaper to travel by flight then....

Same goes to journey from KL-Langkawi....if I were to take bus and ferry, eventually I will end up paying almost double of the cost!!!

So....why bus because now everyone really can fly....choose airBUS not BUS!!!

My environment, my university, my company...

Yesterday is Environmental day and as usual my company will always do a lot of things to contribute to the environment such as stop construction work for a day, plant trees and so on.

I could not join the fun in my company yesterday as I was on study leave for my main exam this coming Tuesday...Never do I know, yesterday was a big day, not just for our environment, but my company and my alma mater.

Yes! SP Setia and UTAR....that what I mean...

SP Setia Berhad have generously sponsor 1 million for UTAR to fund its Green Technology and Environmental Engineering......

With this funding, it was hope that green technology will one day overtake the current technology and help to preserve our environment...

Go green everyone....We can do our part too....Start small by recycling and plant trees....We can make a different too!!!

First!!!

I have been walking on bad luck path for the pass few months and I do thinks it was karma of mine for doing many bad things like cursing people, dreaming too much, money minded and so on...

I remember I promise to the goddest of mercy that I will be charitable when I am able to do so...Yeah, maybe I save quite some money this few months and charity was never in my mind during those period. Maybe those bad luck is karma to me though...

But, days ago, I was looking on the DIY camp for Femine 30 hour which I wanted to join since years ago. I am still thinking whether I wanted to join since my job required me to travel to other region frequently and highly probable that this year femine I will also be in outstation.

Thus, rather than not contributing, I decided to sponsor a child. Do a good deed and be happy.

I received the parcel with the sponsorship children details. Although they allocated another child which do not meet my requirement during registration, but moment i saw the child photo, I could resist to say NO...I decided that I am going ahead.

Though my obligation increase from today onward, but a small oblication from me can save a life. Why not? Join me now....Sponsor a kids under world vision. We also can make the difference.

4th

I dunno what to say.....I really don't know....

If 1 word can describe my life in this 2 months time, i will said it would be "UNLUCKY"

Frankly I involve in too many accident within this 2 months and I really wasted lot of time in it. Not forgetting my car going in and out from the workshop.

For 5 years, I have been driving and nothing happen...But this 2 months...

I hit my neighbour car...That is really my fault...

Then 2 weeks later my car mirror was broken in...

Then 2 weeks ago a motorcycle hit my car when I am doing turning....For that I say it was 50:50 fault by both side.

and just now...I was hit by a Kontena Lorry in a hit and run case....First time I enter to police station to made a report...The accident happen in the most jamming area in Klang due to building of new bridge...So the road was jam up and I was driving at my own lane when a kontena lorry hit my behind my car and my right hand side light and body was badly damage.

I made a report. The police who write the report said it was OK. The lorry is fault. Then I have to explain it to the sergent who will take photo of my car. He said it was 50:50 faulty. Need to wait another side to made report. What!!! 50:50 when I was hit and run..... 50:50 when I was on my own lane?

Ok fine...

I just hope no more bad orman for the rest of the life....Please....

For that, I feel, I am really unlucky....Really....

I must be crazy....Not just that I have no mood for study but my mind is thinking about something going to happen 305 days from now....All this is because of 'greed'...waaha...

I booked ticket to Bangkok for next year and I am already in the mood of planning and seaching for Bangkok information....I must be craxy...

Yes I am crazy....I do...

Mom, the greatest woman

For most of us, our superhero is Superman, Spiderman, Ultraman or maybe Cicakman.

Ever you wonder why all super hero are guys and super heroin are not created?

For one simple reason why there is no super heroin is because god create woman that we call them mom.

Everyone of us live in Mom body for about 9 months. We kick them, we take their nutrient, we pee and poo in their body for 9 months. The day we see the earth, poor mom have to suffer extreme pain, loss of blood, lot of screaming and crying...That is reality...

The moment they saw us crying for the first time, her tear will drip as well. A tear of happiness from the super woman...

Scarification by the heroin doesn't stop there. Small toddler been raised to teenager full of love and care. Remember your first fall? Her heart hurt too. Remember your first sickness? She is the person who worried the most…

From time to time we as younger generation sometime have miscommunication with them. We quarrel. To some extend some might have fight. But parenting love doesn’t stop.

Even as we are teenager, they still care. We fall sick, they are the one pouring water for us. Changing towel on our forehead. Ensure us to take our medicine on time and some even change our cloth.

I remember, when I was small, I fall sick very frequent. My mom have to baggy back me from first floor to ground floor, finding any 24 hours clinic available.

I remember when I was small, our house caught fire. My mom saves me and my sister out ensuring our safety. Though our entire child photos have loss in the fire but I still remember the heat of fire and how I went down the staircase full of smoke.

For what she has does, I have done nothing but grow up and sometime make her angry too. I believe lot of us are the same? But I know what my mom want me to be. She wants me to be successful, obedient, and full of energy and never step into any ‘black’ activity.

I believe I never disappoint her in this point and I will never will. This weekend is mother day and for my family, it was just another normal day. To me mother days is I can be with my mom, listen to her, don’t let her worried about me and try to help her as much as possible. To me 365 days can be mother days and not just second weekend of May.

To my Mom, I love you…..Happy Mother Day…..

To all mom out there, you are super woman in your way. I believe your child will one day notice that….
This would probably my last post in my old house. I am moving to new house on Mother Day and my mom is not able to stay with us due to business purposes. But distance won’t be problem for me because we are just 1km apart. That wasn’t far anyway. If there is heart, 100 miles away, we are still connected. There is something call phone duh!!!

I will not be able to blog for sometime as I need to settle down and get internet connection there. Hope you enjoy the weekend with your love one. Happy Mother Day!
